At an early age, he moved from Ratnagiri to a place called Satara in Maharashtra, which is near Pune. His mother had died. Grown up since childhood. He was young and wanted to study. He used to request this a lot from his father. But he was born in the Mahar caste of the Dalit community, so there were no facilities for education. There, they were not allowed to study along with the common children. The father somehow managed to get him admitted to a nearby school. He was not allowed to sit in the classroom and was made to sit outside the classroom.
Imagine what would have been the condition of a small child if he had studied sitting outside the school classroom and all the children used to study inside the class, but still, Bhimrao Ambedkar was very interested in studies. Once Guru ji asked a question to Ambedkar ji. And Ambedkar Ji wrote the correct answer to this question on the blackboard.
When Bhimrao Ambedkar was writing the correct answer on the board, the children sitting in the classroom started shouting loudly, Master ji, Master ji, he is from a lower caste. Not only this, the children started running and were surprised. Why are they running? Then he saw that all the children picked up their lunch boxes and started going back from there.
Because they were afraid that their food might become impure due to the shadow of Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He had to endure such small pushes. Once Bhimrao Ambedkar ji drank water from a well. There was a lot of slapping and kicking. A small child had to suffer. Once a rickshaw puller had dropped Bhim Rao Ambedkar from the rickshaw. You will not sit on a rickshaw because when the rickshaw puller came to know that he belonged to a lower caste, he said, I will take double the money from you and then you will drive the rickshaw.

Look, please note that this is not about today. The matter is 110 years old. 1908, 1909 At that time a boy from the lowest Dalit caste went and studied English from Mumbai. From there he earned a BA in Political Science and Economics and Bhimrao did not stop there. If you don’t let me study here, I will leave. He was admitted to the best university in the world and went to New York with the same scholarship.
He went to Columbia University and received his first M.A. Completed. After that, he started doing PhD in Political Science, Economics, History, and Sociology. Went to the London School of Economics. He went there and did his M.Sc. Did. He then studied humanities and then obtained a doctorate degree. Then he wrote his thesis on the book. This was the same book on the basis of which today’s Reserve Bank of India has been created.
His love for Maharaj Gaikuwad was so great that it was probably he who gave him the scholarship. Helped them in studies. Their love has not been forgotten throughout the world. Came back to them. Said, I have studied all over the world. I want to join your service, so he was given the job of military security and at that time this job was considered a very big job.
He was in a very high position. But that untouchability did not leave him. There was also a government servant and he used to throw the file to Bhimrao ji from a distance. You have reached a high position but you are from a lower caste. He used to take files there from far away. They were sent out to eat. Even today he cannot drink water from the well.
Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s Suffering
Baba Bhimrao Saheb’s problem has still not stopped. Now Baba Saheb is married to Ramabai. He had 5 children, but due to a lack of proper treatment facilities, four of them left this world one after the other. Four children died. One child but his wife also could not support him for long. His wife also died due to prolonged illness. Baba Saheb Ambedkar: At this time any man could have broken down, his self-respect could have been destroyed, but what did he do? They fought together for the country and did not let the problems at home dominate them.
In 1927, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar went on Satyagraha. He was adamant that he would ensure that all Dalits got the right to drink water from the well. Public space is not someone’s private space which is government space. Why can’t one person drink water with another person there? What was really going wrong at that time? Dalit women also used to wear that saree with their legs raised. He gave rights for the first time. They were given the right to wear a saree that covered their legs like ordinary women.
Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar demanded a communal electorate. In the communal electorate, I wanted our voting facilities should be different depending on the community. Gandhiji was a little adamant about this because Gandhiji knew that the British wanted to break apart all our castes. Gandhiji explained to Bhimrao Ambedkar that I would get him a reservation. I will help you in everything but will not isolate you.
If the country is divided on the basis of castes, I will not be able to enjoy freedom. I will not be able to fight the British. Ambedkar, stand with me and be my strength. Therefore, when Ambedkar did not agree, Gandhiji requested him and after that, Gandhiji sat on strike.
Then a big dilemma arose before Ambedkar. He thinks that he should help the people of his caste and he is on one side and she is on the other side. Along with Gandhiji, Gandhiji was fighting the movement against the British. He thought that Gandhiji should not die because of this movement, then Bhimrao Ambedkar explained to Gandhiji. Ok. You put your signatures in your Poona Pact. When the Poona Pact was signed, they got control over reservations.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was so intelligent that later he brought many good changes in Hindu codes, bills, and laws for women. He was not a political leader who fought for power.
